Albatec

Geotechnical Services

Albatec is an IRATA-certified provider of rope access, geotechnical, and asset management services based in Western Australia. Their sites of operation include Yanchep (Perth region) and Kalgoorlie, servicing the broader mining, infrastructure, and resources sectors.

Rope Access Services

A key strength of Albatec is its rope access capability, which is particularly important in WA’s mining and remote infrastructure environments, where terrain, height, or difficult-to-reach areas present regular challenges. Their rope access technicians are IRATA certified, meaning they work to international standards of safety in working at heights and in accessing high or exposed areas.

They employ high-reach drilling technologies alongside rope access, which allows them to reach up to ~18 metres without erecting full scaffolding systems. This approach reduces set-up time, lowers cost, decreases risk, and minimises disruption to ongoing operations. Typical rope access applications include inspections, maintenance, structural repairs, rock face stabilisation, and work in confined or hazardous spaces.

Geotechnical and Ground Support Services

On the geotechnical side, Albatec delivers ground support services, slope and rockfall stabilisation, anchoring systems, soil nailing, shotcreting, and rockfall mitigation. These are critical services in WA, especially in mining regions or where infrastructure intersects steep or unstable ground.

They also provide geotechnical assessments and monitoring, helping in the design and planning of ground support works, and helping to anticipate and manage risks associated with soil and rock stability. Their goal is to shift from reactive responses (fixing collapse, damage etc.) toward proactive, preventive ground stability strategies.
